MIDWEST NORTH AMERICA
You either love them or hate and fear them. Those seem to be the two feelings people have about cats.
Take the great conqueror, Napoleon, for instance.
	Bullets? No problem for him.
	Cannon fire? Yawn.
A cuddly little kitten? Take it away! Quick!
But then Queen Victoria and King Edward VII of England loved cats and Winston Churchill's cat Nelson had a place set for him at the family dining table.
Feelings toward cats have varied not only among people, but also through the ages. They were worshipped by the ancient Egyptians, but were associated with witches in Europe during the Middle Ages. In North America during the westward migration, they were considered invaluable. With their sharp hearing, good night vision and sharp claws they were excellent mousers and no pioneer family would be without one.
